This is why I like to have my camera with me. A simple trip to the hardware store resulted in the best sighting of a kookaburra in decades. From time to time I've seen them up high, sitting on overhead lines and street lights, or I've caught a glimpse from the car, and I've never been quick enough with my camera. But this one was on a post right beside the road and was still there when we circled round the block!
