At this time of year the cones on the old conifers in the inner suburbs of the city attract Sulphur-crested Cockatoos.
We also see them in the outer suburbs. They like to nibble on timber pergolas and rubber seals on street lights. Very occasionally they land on our bird bath, which really emphasises what big birds they are. They aren't seen so much during the day out here in the suburbs but at dusk they fly around in flocks screeching.
