The end of summer means it's again time to go to "the show", our local annual three day agricultural show. I wandered down sideshow alley and past the showbag pavillion for the first time in years just to get some photos, I can't say I'm enthusiastic about the rides. The last time I went on a ride it was actually a camel ride on the other side of the arena, that was fun! A new attraction this year was the Canadian Lumberjacks, impressive and very entertaining. The regular display by the local Historic Engine Club was fascinating. As usual the animals and the art/craft and produce competitions were the highlight for us.
The beginning of autumn brings more open gardens to visit. Last weekend it was a beautiful large garden and orchard in a semi-rural suburb full of nurseries, orchards, wineries and the like. How wonderful to have so much space. Having nurseries within walking distance might be a drawback for me though, I'd have the space filled in no time!
