By request, some photos of swans. The first was taken at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve just south of Canberra, the others were taken at various places around our main lake, Lake Burley Griffin (named after Walter Burley Griffin, the Chicago architect who designed Canberra). The fifth one, with the flowers, was taken during our annual spring Floriade festival. If the boats in the eighth look out of proportion, it's because they are model boats.

Black swans are beautiful indeed. I don't think I ever saw one for real. I like the last picture best, although they are all great.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I like the idea of a pancake plant. :-)
Oh, they are just stunning! Thanks so much for sharing. My first peek at a black swan and they are magnificent. I wonder why you get to enjoy the black ones and we only see white? Whatever the case, I think they are even more lovely than our whities. Glad we're connected and I look forward to following your posts.
Hmmmm.... now if only I could fanangle a month long visit to your special spot on the globe. :D
I have never seen a black swan before. It is interesting that they have the same grey colored babies as white swans.
