Another Open Garden Visit

Yes, it's that time of year again when I start to eagerly check the Open Garden website each week to see what gardens will be on show in my area on the weekend. This time it was a huge relatively new native garden in one of the oldest suburbs. Hard to believe it's less than ten years old, but I suppose it makes sense when you consider the borrowed landscape of the surrounding much older plantings, the large trees on the perimeter that were retained from the original garden and the fast-growing native plants that have been used. A wonderful feature was the series of ponds and waterfalls starting beside the outdoor living area and continuing down the hill. It was interesting to see a number of more advanced specimens of plants I've planted in our garden or seen in the nursery and contemplated planting.
