A few days ago, before the latest downpour, we visited the river to see how it was going. To our surprise the low level crossing was open, though it has since been closed again. It was exciting to see some Red-rumped Parrots, they are not as common around here as Eastern Rosellas and Crimson Rosellas and I haven't seen any at all for a while.

A Quick Little Walk Along the River
I would have liked this post to be a celebration of the rain we've been getting and certainly there's a lush greenness and profusion of flowering that hasn't been seen for a long time, but sadly for many people who live near rivers and many farmers who were hoping for the best crop yields in years there has been too much rain this week.

Those wild flowers are gorgeous.I too love to walk in wild places, but can never photograph the birds:(
So cool that you get to see those birds out in the wild - we only see them in cages in the pet shop!
